Lam Research Corporation Appoints Terry Bean Vice President, Global Human Resources FREMONT, Calif., May 7, 2001 - Lam Research Corporation (Nasdaq: LRCX) today announced the appointment of Terry Bean as vice president of global human resources. In this capacity, Bean will provide strategic direction and leadership worldwide for human resources. He will report to the Office of the CEO, consisting of James W. Bagley, chairman and CEO, and Stephen G. Newberry, president and COO. Bean brings more than 28 years of executive leadership experience to Lam. Most recently, he held the position of vice president, human resources, at Webvan Group.

 

Prior to Webvan, Bean served as senior vice president of human resources and corporate services for Office Depot, the world's largest office products company. He was also recruited to build an effective leadership team for the joint venture among Royal Dutch Shell, Texaco, and Saudi Armco-the largest joint venture to date in the energy sector. While serving as senior vice president for the joint venture, he created an enterprise-wide human resources community.
