Lam Awards $10,000 Scholarships to Students at Six Fremont High Schools FREMONT, Calif., June 9, 2003-Lam Research Corporation (Nasdaq: LRCX) today announced that one student at each of Fremont's six public high schools will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship in a new annual Core Values Scholarship Program established this year. Each scholarship will be paid out of the Lam Research Foundation over a four-year period. The scholarships are awarded to students who, in addition to maintaining a minimum 3.0 grade point average, demonstrate the Core Values practiced at Lam.
The Core Values included in the selection criteria were achievement, honesty and integrity, innovation and continuous improvement, mutual trust and respect, open communication, ownership and accountability, and teamwork. These values are central to Lam's corporate culture and help define the standards expected of the Company's employees.
The Core Values Scholarship Program is a component of Lam's philanthropy program, which includes educational grants, an Employee Gift Match Program, and scholarships.
