Lam Research Corporation Supports Global Tsunami Relief Efforts

FREMONT, Calif., January 10, 2005--Lam Research Corporation (Nasdaq: LRCX), Fremont, Calif., today announced it has established a matching gift program for employees who wish to support the global relief efforts set up to assist victims of last month's devastating tsunami. The Company will match employee contributions up to $150,000, and will make an additional $100,000 charitable contribution for a corporate gift of up to $250,000.

"We are deeply saddened and extend our sympathy and support to all of those affected by the tsunami and earthquake," stated James W. Bagley, Lam's chairman and chief executive officer. "Our executives and employees have already begun contributing to humanitarian relief projects, and we intend to support their efforts by matching contributions and making additional donations."
