Lam Named to Business Ethics' 100 Best Corporate Citizens List

FREMONT, Calif., May 1, 2006—Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ: LRCX) today announced that it has been named one of the "100 Best Corporate Citizens" by Business Ethics magazine for the second consecutive year. The list recognizes companies with exemplary practices in the area of corporate social responsibility.

Published annually by Business Ethics in its spring issue, the report identifies companies that serve various stakeholder groups with excellence and integrity. Firms considered are selected from the Russell 1000 Index—the 1,000 largest publicly traded companies in the United States, the S&P 500 Index, and the Domini 400 Social Index. Companies are ranked based on their performance in serving eight stakeholder categories: shareholders, community, governance, diversity, employees, environment, human rights, and product.
