Mr. Brandt is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Broadcom Corporation, a position he has held since March 2007. From September 2005 through March 2007, Brandt served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Avanir Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Avanir, Mr. Brandt was Executive Vice President-Finance and Technical Operations and Chief Financial Officer of Allergan Inc., a global specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company, where he also held a number of other senior positions following his arrival there in 1999. Mr. Brandt previously spent ten years with The Boston Consulting Group, a privately-held global business consulting firm, most recently serving as Vice President and Partner.
Mr. Brandt currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Dentsply International, Inc., a public company. He has also served as a member of the boards of directors of Avanir and of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he served as chair of the Audit Committee, both public companies.
Mr. Brandt earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Master of Business Administration Degree from the Harvard Business School.
