From the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lam has been supporting people and organizations most affected by the crisis through monetary and personal protective equipment (PPE) donations.

One way Lam has empowered employees to make immediate and direct impacts to their communities was by providing employee relief funding to employees worldwide. These financial gifts had no restrictions and were offered to employees as a supplement to their own household needs or to help others who were caught in a desperate situation.

The Lam Foundation has delivered $1,340,000 in grants to more than 38 organizations around the globe. A few of the causes recently awarded grants by Lam for COVID-19 relief include:

  • Fondation de France for medical research, support for the health of the most fragile and precarious, and fighting against the isolation of the elderly.
  • Rode Kruis afdeling Leuven is a branch of the Red Cross in Leuven, Belgium, providing blood support and first aid to those suffering as a result of the pandemic.
  • AVPS Vimercate in Italy provides PPE and medical care to those affected by COVID-19.
  • Quartet Community Foundation supports medical care and research for the elderly in the UK.
  • Open Heart Kitchen’s Weekend Bag Lunch Program addresses the nutritional gap of more than 2,750 Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin children who lack a secure source of nutrition over the weekend, even through the COVID-19 situation.
  • Second Harvest Asia/Second Harvest Japan supports food programs for vulnerable families, schools and organizations experiencing hardship as a result of COVID-19.
  • Food Bank of Dayton and Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaign and Madison counties.
  • YWCA of Dayton supports individuals who are victims of domestic violence. The funds would help enable social distancing for women and families who require shelter and need to be isolated due to virus exposure, either via extended hotel stays or in additional facilities owned/maintained by the YWCA.
  • Taiwan Fund for Children and Families to support education-related needs for underprivileged families.
  • Samarthanam Trust in India for distribution of PPE kits to healthcare workers in hospitals in Bangalore.
  • Free Geek providing students with digital access to support distance learning in Oregon. Current estimates show more than 75,000 computers are needed by students, and as we look at the long term impacts of COVID-19 on the community. Grant funding will be used to purchase the hardware necessary to refurbish laptops for nearly 400 students throughout the region.
  • ChildFund Korea is providing iPads and laptops for children from low-income families that are homebound due to the pandemic.

As the need or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has grown, Lam has provided almost $700,000 in physical PPE donations and grants to support the procurement of PPE to medical facilities and first responders throughout the world.

Lam is committed to supporting employees and their communities as we journey through these difficult times. We’re all in this together.
